Near my house on the main road there are no street lights. At night it’s always really dark. So what I want to do as my Karthavyam project is to add street lights.
The problem is that at night the drivers don’t really know what’s in front of them and they may drive over an animal or hit a person. There are always dead dogs or calves lying on the road in the morning very often. It is very hard for people to cross the road at night because they can hardly see anything.
The mindsets needed are:
– CREATIVE CONFIDENCE
– EMPATHY
– ITERATE
because…… I needed creative confidence to go ask other people if they found it a problem on the road while driving and to go out and take pictures at night. I sit in the front while my mom drives I’d ask her whether it’s hard for to drive and she agrees. I try to put myself there by using empathy…it was pretty hard because you wouldn’t be able to see anything. I had to keep taking pictures until they weren’t blurry and more clear, which was really hard because there were moving cars and i was sitting in one (iterate).
