A home for street dogs

On a Sunday morning, I went for a walk. While on the walk,

I saw three little puppies scampering around the street, running,   jumping and generally having a good time. Suddenly, I heard a car horn in the distance and I moved out of the road but the pups weren’t used to cars yet and they were just sitting there and playing. I got extremely worried and tried to move the puppies off of the road but they wouldn’t budge. Fortunately, the car wasn’t coming very fast and managed to stop just in front of the dogs.

This got me thinking if we, the community could do something for the pups; we could make little shelters for them at night so they don’t sleep in the middle of the road and get run-over. I am still in the idea stage but I would like to move on and do something for the puppies. The other dogs would leave them unattended and run off somewhere to go find food or explore new areas. At this time the puppies, being naturally curious would run jump and play.

Though there is a veterinary clinic nearby, a couple of metres away, doesn’t mean we can hurt them and then cure them, it’s like saying sorry after you punch someone on purpose. As most of us will know, “Prevention is better than cure.”
