It was a beautiful Sunday morning on 24th July 2016. I went around the place Semmancherry along with parents when sun was shining bright.
There were nice water bodies seen along the road from Semmancherry to OMR.. But the water bodies were small and dirty. When I asked my dad, he explained that there used to be huge lakes here spreading over the land and lot of birds looking for fish.
What happened to the lakes? Why do we see only small water ponds?
I also saw huge buildings which have been built over these water bodies. The buildings appear quite normal. But if I remember the huge floods and the sufferings we had, the building on the water bodies do not look normal. This is a man made disaster.
The learnings out of this 45 minutes tour gave me:
- Nature if not preserved will hit back.
- We should not be greedy in taking everything when we live: leave behind something for next generation.
- I should try and look out for such things which appear normal, but has a hidden story behind them.
